Mark Beale, New Star's Deputy chief investment officer, has 22 years' investment experience. Having developed formidable expertise in both global and US equity markets, Mark oversees New Star's US investments. Mark joined New Star Institutional Managers* in 1982. Mark holds a BA in Economic History from the University of Sussex.

Roger Dossett is chief executive of property fund management and manages the direct property portfolio of the New Star UK Property Unit Trust. He is a senior figure in the property industry, in which he has more than 37 years' experience. He was appointed to the board of Estates & General plc in 1982 and became managing director in 1992.
James Gledhill is Head of Fixed Income and has 15 years' investment experience. Prior to joining New Star in 2002, James worked at M&G. James holds a BA in Metallurgy and Science of Material from the University of Oxford.
Richard Lewis, European excluding the UK equity fund manager, has 21 years' European investment management experience. He joined New Star Institutional Managers* in 1989 from Capel-Cure Myers Capital Management. Richard holds a BSc in Economics and Statistics from Bristol University.

Gregor Logan, joint chief investment officer and fund manager, joined New Star in 2004. He has 29 years' investment experience. Gregor was previously chief investment officer of Pavilion Asset Management and MGM Assurance, prior to which he worked for 13 years at Fidelity International. Gregor holds an LLB in Law from Edinburgh University.
Richard Pease is director of European Equities and fund manager at New Star and has 23 years' investment experience. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented European excluding the UK fund managers. Prior to joining New Star in 2001, he was fund manager at Jupiter Asset Management. Richard holds a BA in General Arts from Durham University.
Phil Roantree has 21 years' investment experience. He joined New Star in 2003. Previously he headed the investment grade credit team at Aberdeen Asset Management and was manager of the Aberdeen Sterling Bond Unit Trust, where he won the Bloomberg Investment Week Corporate Bond Fund of the Year Award in both 2000 and 2001.
Toby Thompson has 18 years' investment experience. Prior to joining New Star in 2002, Toby was a highly successful fund manager at Newton, where he managed the Newton Higher Income Fund. Toby holds an MA in Economics from Edinburgh University.
Charles Tritton was previously head of alternative investments and head of derivatives at HSBC Investment Bank plc. Charles is responsible for the development of New Star's hedge fund strategies. He has an intimate knowledge of the hedge fund industry and a particular expertise in risk management.
Stephen Whittaker is joint chief investment officer at New Star. With 27 years' experience in the investment industry, Stephen built his reputation at Invesco Perpetual. He joined New Star in 2002. Stephen holds an LLB in Law from the University of Manchester.
