In a ground-breaking launch that effectively opened up a brand new investment area to UK investors, in June 2007 New Star unveiled the first UK retail 'bricks and mortar' commercial property fund targeting the asset class internationally. The fund offers investors powerful diversification and returns potential, including the prospect of regular income paid twice a year.
The New Star International Property Fund invests in commercial properties outside the UK, with the initial focus on Western Europe, Central Europe, Japan and the rest of Asia. The fund is managed by New Star's global property team, headed by Roger Dossett and including Stuart Webster, head of global property. They oversee an extensive, experienced team of specialists and external advisers, based around the world. In addition to managing the £380.58m* New Star International Property Fund and the £2.07bn* New Star UK Property Unit Trust, which invests in UK commercial property, the team manages more than $860m* of international property through a specialist institutional fund.
