Each month Citywire, an independent financial publisher, analyses and rates individual UK fund managers for their risk-adjusted performance over the previous 36-month period. The best fund managers - fewer than 5% of all UK fund managers - achieve an AAA rating from Citywire.
Managers who achieve an A or AA rating are still well above average performers. Less than one in five fund managers get any rating at all from Citywire. Other fund managers will get no rating at all, because their risk-adjusted performance is not good enough or because they have not been running funds long enough to qualify.
