Mark Skinner joined New Star in July 2001. Previously he was sales and marketing director at Norwich Union, where he was responsible for investment fund development. After working for the Financial Times and Save and Prosper, he became sales director for Baring Fund Managers, being appointed managing director in 1992. He joined the board of Baring Asset Management in 1996 and became chairman of Baring International Fund Managers in Dublin.
Richard Wilson, who has 21 years' experience in the investment industry, started his career at Save and Prosper. He then moved to Prolific Unit Trust Managers and joined the executive team at Aberdeen Asset Management following its acquisition of Prolific. Prior to joining New Star, he was Aberdeen's UK and European marketing director.
Simon joined New Star from Invesco Fund Managers where he was a regional sales manager for the UK retail market. Before this he spent six years at Deutsche Asset Management on the broker sales desk and as part of their retail sales team.
Greg Jones joined New Star in 2001 having worked in the investment industry since 1985. He started his career as a portfolio manager for Sedgwick and has, more recently, held a number of sales management roles with Schroder Unit Trusts, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and with Norwich Union Investment Funds as head of strategic alliances. At New Star he is also head of Nordic markets.
Mark Hutson joined New Star from Credit Suisse Asset Management where he held a similar position from 1998. Whilst at Credit Suisse, and before that at Schroders, he developed an outstanding sales record and a reputation for exemplary service.
Sam joined New Star in 2003 from Framlington where he was head of life company and network sales. Prior to this he was at Zurich IFA as a senior consultant in the Midlands.
Jon was previously managing director of intermediary sales for Edinburgh Fund Managers, becoming a board director in 2003. Prior to this he spent 11 years with M&G, latterly as UK divisional sales manager.
Mark was previously at Jupiter Unit Trust Managers where he covered National and Network relationships having previously worked in the technical services team dealing with intermediary enquiries. Mark joined Jupiter in 1997 from IMG.
Bryan joined New Star from Aberdeen Asset Management in May 2001 where he worked in the broker sales team covering the London and City region. Prior to that, he worked at Barclays Global Investors as a broker consultant.
Ben Cherrington was previously with Skandia Life for 3 years, where he worked within various functions ranging from the marketing and development of investment products to the positioning and development of Skandia's fund range. More recently Ben worked closely with the Skandia salesforce with regards to the promotion of Skandia's fund proposition.
Emma joined New Star in November 2004 from JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, where she was involved in both retail and institutional marketing as well as client servicing. She has also worked in product development for boutique investment banks in her native Australia.
Will Hamilton previously spent a year within HSBC Global Markets, working in a front office support role to the sales and trade teams covering all fixed-income products, with particular focus on syndicated loans. Will joined HSBC having gained a 2:1 from Bristol University.
Penny joined New Star in September 2003 from Exeter Fund Managers where she worked as broker support manager. Prior to that Penny worked at Prudential where she worked as a financial consultant.
Murry joined New Star in January 2006 from Insight Investment where he was a Service Delivery Manager within retail operations. His initial role at New Star was as an Operations Manager prior to joining the investment services team in October 2007.
Rachel Aarons joined the New Star investment services team in June 2007 to support Jon Hodesdon after taking a business information systems management degree at Bournemouth University.
Caspar joined New Star in October 2007 to support Bryan Bushnell. He is an experienced sales broker, having worked at Sporting Index and brings with him prior communications experience from Betfair.
