New Star Asset Management is delighted to announce the appointment of James Gledhill as head of fixed income at New Star. James, formerly joint head of fixed income with Theodora Zemek, who is leaving New Star, will assume his new role with immediate effect.
James Gledhill, one of the leading fixed income fund managers in the UK, has been instrumental in developing New Star's award-winning fixed income team since joining New Star in August 2002.
The New Star Fixed Interest Unit Trust will now be managed jointly by James Gledhill and Nick Hayes. Nick Hayes, who joined the New Star fixed income team in May 2003, specialises in investment grade instruments and has been the second named fund manager on this fund since November 2006.
Gregor Logan, New Star's joint chief investment officer, will take over the management of the New Star Managed Distribution Fund. James Gledhill will manage the fixed income component of this fund's portfolio, with Toby Thompson continuing to manage the equity component.
The New Star Sterling Bond Unit Trust will continue to be managed by Phil Roantree, who has managed this fund since 1992 (when it was the Aberdeen Asset Management Sterling Bond Fund). The New Star High Yield Bond Fund will continue to be managed by James Gledhill. Mark Sanders, who came to New Star from Aberdeen Asset Management in 2003, will join James Gledhill as joint manager of the New Star Extra High Yield Bond Unit Trust.
