New Star is delighted to announce that Charles Deptford has assumed responsibility for the New Star Equity Income Unit Trust with immediate effect, taking over from Stephen Whittaker. Charles joined New Star from Baring Asset Management on 30 June 2008.
Charles Deptford's appointment adds considerable resource to New Star's UK equity team. His appointment will allow Stephen Whittaker to focus his attentions on the management of the New Star UK Growth Fund.
Prior to joining New Star, Charles worked at Baring Asset Management, where he was head of UK retail equity funds and managed the Baring Equity Income Fund and the Baring UK Growth Fund. Charles has more than 20 years' experience, having previously managed money at Insight, Rothschild and Eagle Star prior to his employment at Baring Asset Management.
