New Star International is pleased to announce it has received authorisation for the New Star Pan-European Equity Fund and the New Star Euro High Yield Fund to be distributed in France. Both are sub-funds of New Star Global Investment Funds Plc, a range of top-performing funds based in Dublin. The registration is part of New Star's international expansion in response to the demand for New Star funds throughout Europe and the ongoing success of its French operation.
Daniel White is the lead manager of the New Star Pan-European Equity Fund and responsible for asset allocation between the Continental European and UK portions of the fund. Daniel works with Richard Pease to determine equity selection in Continental Europe. Richard is widely regarded as one of the most talented European fund managers. Equity selection in the UK is determined by Stephen Whittaker, New Star's joint chief investment officer. With more than 50 years' experience between them, the three managers benefit from being part of New Star's proven investment team.
The aim of the New Star Pan-European Equity Fund is to generate alpha through active stock selection, with the primary focus on delivering strong long-term absolute returns. It provides investors with the opportunity to invest in a single diversified portfolio of Continental European and UK equities and equity-related securities aimed at delivering long-term capital growth. The fund is eligible in France to the PEA (Plan d'Epargne en Actions), a tax efficient savings wrapper similar to an ISA in the UK.
The New Star Euro High Yield Fund, managed by James Gledhill and Nick Hayes, aims to achieve a high level of income with the potential for modest long-term capital appreciation. James is head of fixed income (credit) at New Star and one of the leading credit specialists in the UK. Nick specialises in euro investment grade credit and manages the investment grade portfolio of the fund. The fund is a blended credit fund with a neutral mix of investment grade and sub-investment grade bonds. The New Star corporate bond team is a highly experienced team in European corporate bond management.
